Share your love of books by reading your favorite story to a Head Start class!
Join Us for Community Reads Week: Brightening Young Minds Through Reading!
Community Reads Week from Monday, October 27, 2025, through Thursday, October 30, 2025.
This special week is an opportunity for community members, parents, early childhood advocates, and curious neighbors to make a meaningful impact on our youngest learners. Our Early Head Start program serves children from birth to 2 years old (and pregnant mothers), while our Head Start program supports children ages 3-5. Over the past 60 years, we have prepared more than 16,000 children for kindergarten, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
We invite you to visit our classrooms in Indian River County and Okeechobee County to read stories, share a smile, and connect with our preschoolers. Your time and presence can brighten their day, ignite their passion for reading, and strengthen our community bonds.
Join us in nurturing early literacy and celebrating the incredible impact of Head Start programs. Every story shared helps build a brighter future for our children!
